唐本忠,男,高分子化学家。香港科技大学讲座教授。主要从事高分子合成方法论的探索、先进功能材料的开发以及聚集诱导发光(AIE)现象的研究。发明了合成炔类聚合物的新催化体系,开拓了从炔类单体制备线性和超支化高分子的新聚合途径,制备了一系列具有光、电、磁、热和生物活性的新功能材料。发现了反常的AIE现象、解释了AIE过程的机理,并将AIE效应有效地应用到发光器件、化学检测和生物传感等技术领域。曾获2007年裘槎高级研究成就奖、国家自然科学二等奖等。2009年当选中国科学院院士。

成就及荣誉

1957年2月生于湖北潜江,籍贯湖南津市。1982年毕业于华南理工大学高分子科学与工程系,获工学学士学位,1985年、1988年先后获日本京都大学高分子化学系硕士、博士学位。曾在加拿大多伦多大学化学与药学系从事博士后研究、日本NEOS公司中央研究所任高级研究员。1994年7月至今历任香港科技大学化学系助理教授、副教授、教授、讲座教授。2006年3月受聘为浙江大学“光彪讲座教授”。2009年当选中国科学院院士。

主要研究领域

(1)设计合成新型聚合单体和构筑新型大分子

(2)开发适应多种官能团的立体有择性聚合催化剂

(3)合成线性与超支化共轭聚合物与有机金属聚合物和

(4)研制具有光电磁和生物功能的先进材料。

作为项目负责人先后承担科研项目约30项,其中包括国家杰出青年基金(B类)1项、国家自然科学基金重点项目1项、国际合作项目3项、并作为研究骨干参加“973”课题1项。发表学术论文300多篇,已被他人引用4000多次,h因子为46。应邀撰写了16篇综述文章和30多篇专著章节,在学术会议上作了130多场邀请报告(含17场大会报告和6场主题报告),拥有5项美国或日本专利。

获奖情况

2007年获国家自然科学二等奖、Croucher基金会高级研究员奖、中国化学会王葆仁奖和Polymer杂志社冯新德奖。现为美国化学会Noteworthy Chemistry专栏科学新闻撰稿人和多家国际科学杂志顾问、编委或客座编辑。
