Maren Whitney Ord出生于1981年2月28日，一位加拿大的流行摇滚歌手，她出生并成长在埃德蒙顿，是家里10个孩子的老八，家庭也是一个音乐世家，爸爸是一位音乐教授，她的母亲教他唱歌跟钢琴，15岁的时候开始学会吉他，1998年的时候，她参加了一个叫莉莉丝的博览会，在那里遇到了一位加拿大的音乐公司经理，看过她的演出之后便与她签约。她的首张专辑”Waiting“由Stephen Hague制作，在伦敦，纽约录制，在2001年发行，借助首张专辑，Ord获得了Juno Award的最佳新人提名。专辑中”Perfect“为”电影风雨哈佛路“的片尾曲，我想国内也是借这电影的片尾曲才知道Ord的吧。目前与丈夫乔，和两个年幼的儿子，杰克逊和诺亚居住在埃德蒙顿的阿尔伯塔河谷地区。
