For example, the phase “spring from”, “biased toward” and the sentence “beautiful people are assumed also to possess certain desirable”. But after the discussing and teacher’s explanation, I understand them. Those mean “be the result of”, “like or pay more attention”. And I do not [know]the meaning of that sentence. I guess it means “we always believe beautiful person [is]more excellent such as character[characterful], intelligent”. Appearance is a word that applies to what ones sees [see]when one is looking at someone or something. Obviously, in the case of people this covers a wide variety of visual aspects. One person’s notion of a handsome man or a beautiful woman may not correspond at all to that of another person. Beauty, as the saying goes, is in the eye of the beholder. |
