| 释义 | In paragraph 10 and 11, the author talked about another kind of showing off which is called narcissistic showing off. It is a kind of showing off which doesn't bother to compete. They always want to be the center of attention. The author listed some kinds of behavior (behaviors) of narcissistic showoffs. They want to show they are strong, brave and full of (filled with) knowledge. In one word, they are good. I thought about a word when I was reading these two paragraph ( paragraphs). It's self-center. They are eager to be the center of the public. They like the feeling of being the center of attention. "Outshine" is a very good word. So in other word, If they lose the attention of public, they don't like it. Like the guy said in paragraph 11, "but all of a sudden the talk started getting so superficial". The like themselves only. They hate everything what will steel their attention. |
