Our History

In 1979, Phoenix International began serving the importing and exporting needs of Chicago companies. Through the hard work and vision of founder Bill McInerney, Stephane Rambaud and Andy Wang, Phoenix has grown to become a true multimodal logistics company with offices around the world.

1979 Phoenix is founded in Chicago by Bill McInerney, as an international airfreight forwarder.

1982 PIX Line, Phoenix's NVOCC division is formed. Company begins operating as an ocean freight forwarder and Customs broker.

1985 Stephane Rambaud joins Phoenix in the Chicago Import department.

1990 Stephane is promoted to Vice President, in charge of the Midwest.

1994 Phoenix USA consists of 8 offices.

1995 Phoenix expands internationally with the opening of their Far East offices. The company office locations grow from 8 to 17.

1999 Phoenix's continued growth results in a more than 100% increase in net earnings, topping the 0 million in gross sales.
