长达六分钟的《波西米亚狂想曲》（Bohemian Rhapsody是Queen中期的作品，发布作品正是Queen全盛的时期，那时候Mercury肯定还没得上艾滋病。

背景

Mercury从小就热爱歌剧，不过他出身贫寒，没能在歌剧上有更多的发展。所以他在组建乐队以后就把不少关于歌剧的东西搬到了自己的歌中。描写小人物的感情与生活，是Queen音乐最大的特点之一。

这首歌不仅蝉连英国排行榜榜首达九周之久，而且在不少西方国家的排行榜上也名列首位，这首歌在摇滚史上更被称作“摇滚歌剧”。

后来在伦敦的多米尼奥剧院，《吉尼斯世界记录大全》一书宣布了“英国热门单曲”的前十名得主，名列榜首的就是皇后乐队的这首经典之作《波西米亚狂想曲》，

当时的评论说这首歌曲在悠扬中蕴涵无尽伤痛的情绪，充分体现了乐队唯美精致的乐风。

在酷似歌剧唱诗般的华丽配乐中不断加入大段的重金属吉他 riff 和 solo，这正是 Queen 的典型风格。歌曲的制作过程也体现了 Queen 那种典型的精益求精的态度，他们用了 3 个星期的时间来进行录制工作，而且在歌曲的音轨上加入了大量的背景配音，以至于在录制完成后，母带的有些地方磁粉已经薄到可以看穿的地步。
