The ASLOGDIR environment variable is optional and is not set by the

installation program. It defines the location of various log files:

· The backup log is .backup.syb, in the directory specified by $ASLOGDIR.

· The server log is in the file servername.nnn.SVRLOG (where nnn is the

number of times the server has been started) in the directory specified by

$ASLOGDIR. The server log file is present on UNIX only.
