| 释义 | Today, I start to discuss paragraph 5 and paragraph 6 with my teacher and classmates. There comes a question that why the author quotes young children. In my view, after readers know sorts of researches have proved that adults will be influenced by appearance, their attention will be drawn by children’s attitudes. As a result, the writer cites two examples in the proper time which show the ideas of children. Young children are likely to bias toward attractive children which is similar to the behaviors of adults. In paragraph 6, a phrase “like one’s own” appeals to me. I know this phrase very well. But I can’t understand it in the sentence. I carefully read the former sentences again. Then it occurs to me that it refers to that normal people believe that attractive people have same personalities to them. At the latter part of paragraph 6, I kind [find]that the reason why young children appraise highly about pretty persons. It is because those children are taught the stereotype quite early. And in my opinion, “stereotype” is an old way doing something which is always bad. |
