学校占地294亩(相当于半个无锡新体育中心)，建筑面积13.2万平方米(相当于3个无锡八百伴)，投资3.2亿元人民币(是无锡市教育局的最大投资)，是无锡地区规模最大，设施一流的职业技术窗口学校。学校先后为高级酒店、旅行社、风景区、航空公司、商贸物资、金融证券和房地产等行业输送了近万名应用型人才，被社会誉为“服务明星”的摇篮，旅游商贸行业的“黄埔军校”。学校被中央教科所列为“创新教育实验学校”，并获得“江苏省职业教育先进集体”荣誉称号。

Introduction to the school:

Wuxi Vocational School of Tourism & Commerce, started with great energy, involvement, and competence by Wuxi Education Bureau, is the biggest secondary vocational education base in this city as well as the training base of local tourist and commercial talents. Covering an area of 294 mu , it is the biggest window school of vocational and technical education in Wuxi, with a building area of 132,000 square metres , an investment of 320,000,000 yuan and first class equipment. It has provided more than ten thousand practical talents for high-star hotels , travel agencies, scenic areas, airline companies, businesses and enterprices of materials, financial businesses, securities agencies, etc. It is hailed as the cradle of “service stars” and “the Huangpu Military School” of travel and commercial businesses by the society. It is listed in “ the campus schools of educational innovation” by the Central educational research institute, and entitled “the advanced vocational school of Jiangsu province” .

Feature of running school:

The school is run open and it is a blend of secondary vocational education, higher vocational education , international cooperation classes, social training , and vocational agency. It is people oriented and every student gets the full development by all means of study in spite of their different backgrounds, realizing their ideal of “not only pursueing their studies, applying for a job and seeking success but also conducting themselves, handling affairs and being a strong man”.

International communication:

In order to enhance the external cooperation and communication of vocational education, our school cooperates with Italy Prever tourism college , enrolling students of international cooperation and setting majors of tourism, hotel management and western cuisine.

Set of majors:

Our school contains different kinds of majors of both secondary and higher vocational education esecially majoring in commerce and bussiness, tourism,cuisine,internet technology ,electronic bussiness and real estate, with three demostration majors of Jiangsu Province and four demonstration majors of Wuxi included.

Teaching staff status:

The school has 202 full-time teachers including 147 ones for specialized courses. Undergraduates and postgraduates make up 92% of the total tachers.The teachers with intermediate or high-ranking professional titles cover a percentage of 70. Besides , there are 48% teachers holding skill certificates in our school concerning registered accountants, accountants, national tour guides, special-class cooks, hotel service staff, engineers and high-ranking technicians and so on. In the whole city, special subject teaching leaders, teaching dabs and teaching emerging persons of eminence in our school add up to 12. Especially, one teacher in our school is a member of China calligrapher committee. In addition, there are a number of concurrent teachers based on their different industrial knowledge. The rich resources of teaching power will ensure and promote the continuous ,steady and coordinate development of Wuxi Vocational School of Tourism and Commerce .
