释义 | I read paragraph 12 to 16. The author talked about another group of showoffs. Why did not she use her own words but use one of her close friend’s opinions to explain these showoffs? I think [thought] the author agreed with her friend's opinion, and what her friend said was classical [classic] . In paragraph 13, the author said, "folks achieve great things…”usually we use people, person and so on, but she used "folks" here. I think [thought] this word was more informal. In this sentence, “folks" was much better than other words. In paragraph 14, there was one sentence. Why did not the author put it in the end of paragraph 13 or in the beginning of paragraph 15? Maybe it was an important sentence, summarizing then introducing. The first sentence in paragraph 15, the word "four" was a little difficult to understand. Because I did not know the meaning of four here, four children or four mothers, so I read the sentence again, then I found the answer, it was four children. |
