| 释义 | After I read the last 8 paragraphs I have many questions. In paragraph 9, the first sentence has two dashes I can not understand it（去掉） very well, it is difficult for （to)me. Paragraph 10 is the shortest one in this article, but it is very important. This paragraph first summary and then interdiction These words in paragraph 11 are easy for me and I(have learned) learn them when I was in middle school. The last sentence in this paragraph is (去掉）interested me. I think “it is too tempting too common and too much a part of human nature” means “cheating is common in our society and it is so natural” or “it is such a significant part of human nature.” In paragraph 12 the word “outspoken” is difficult for me. I do not know this word. So I look it up in the dictionary, it means “expressing strong opinions directly without worrying if other people are offended.” It is an adjective. In paragraph 13 “a dual purpose” stops me reading the article. So I read it three times. From the text I guess it means “two good result” the whole sentence means “the approach serves two good results”. I want to check my thought so I discuss (it)with my classmates and they told (tell)me it is the same meaning with my thought. I think paragraph 14 is one of the easiest paragraphs (paragraph)in the article. The word “open-book” in the first sentence means “open-book exam”. In paragraph 15, there are many difficult new words but the grammar is easy so I can understand this paragraph clearly. In this paragraph the sentence “I want professors and students to discuss ways that exams can be used as a learning device, not an evaluation tool” interested me. I agree to the Larry Walker’s idea. I think exam is not an evaluation tool but now in many schools they always use exam to be an evaluation tool. It is bad for students, it may give more stress to the students and let them cheating. So we must change the exam’s function. In paragraph 16, the phrase “for the most part” is very useful I can use it in my writing in CET4 or others. And I think the habit must change it when we was young, because habits take root in elementary school, bud in high school, flower in college.. in my opinion we must stop students from cheating when they in elementary school. The last paragraph tells us parents are important in our life and take an important role. Parents’ education is also very important they must teach their children not to cheat when the children was little and let their children to have good habits. |
