| 释义 | In the four passages, author talks about exulting, not showing off. He thinks showing off people is not the slightest bit shy or self-restrained. However, exulting may be a permissible from of showing off. I do not agree with author’s view. Exulting people is a part of the showing off people. Showing off people will show off their every thing which includes happy and sad things. For example, he lost his job and his wife left him. He will show off his sad thing. If he had a clever baby, he also shows off his happy thing. But exulting people is a little difference. They may show off their common thing. For example, in the twentieth passage, author only write that a husband fires an egg for his wife and practically does a tap dance as he carries it from the kitchen stove to the table. In the twenty first passage, author also write that the grandmother takes her first grandson to visit all her friends and announces as she walked into the room. There are different between exulting people and showing off people. |
