1969年，在《Let It Be》发行之前，这张伟大的专辑以《Get Back》的名字少量发行，当时只有很少一部分幸运的歌迷买到了这个最原始的版本。而后，Beatles内部的矛盾愈演愈烈，最终不得不以解散告终，这张专辑便用Let It Be为名正式发行，成为Beatles发行时间上最晚的一张，曲目与《Get Back》相比有所删减，顺序亦有所变动。也就是说，《Get Back》才是Beatles真正想要做的专辑。《Let It Be》仅仅是矛盾激化后过气的产物，尽管它还是那么优秀。所以后来的歌迷千方百计地收购1969年发现的《Get Back》，而在1990年Apple公司重新发行了这张专辑并对一些曲目进行了数字修复。另外增加了几首未曾发行的歌。
