袁大刚是四川农业大学的一名副教授，毕业于中国科学院南京土壤研究所，主要授课是土壤学和地球科学概论。获得博士学位。

主持国家级项目和校级项目各1项，承担省部级子课题1项；在《Journal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science》、《Pedosphere》、《科学通报》、《土壤学报》等刊物上发表论文近20篇，协编《土壤发生与系统分类》专著第八章《城市土壤形成过程》。
