安徽工业大学附属中学前身是马鞍山市第八中学，建于1968年4月，是安徽省连续第四、五、六、七届文明单位，马鞍山市第四、五轮办学水平督导评估优秀单位。学校目前为两地办学，82个教学班，在校学生4500余人。在职在编教职工259余人。

2004年，该校在全省中学首开“机器人校本课程”，培养学生创新意识和创造能力，在国家级大

赛中，6人获国家一等奖，10人获国家二等奖，7人获国家三等奖。其中，在第七届中国智能机器人大赛（上海）中，江歌同学获一等奖，并入选国家队，2007年4月将赴美国“三一”学院参加世界机器人大赛。

“没有一流的体育，就没有一流的学校”。 2005年10月，高标准建成全省首家中学生击剑馆。2006年7月，在山东青岛举行的全国中学生击剑锦标赛中勇夺10金7银7铜（共24枚金银），在全国“俱乐部杯”比赛中，获6金3银3铜。连续三届被评为全国群众体育先进单位，被命名为“全国青少年体育俱乐部”，安徽省青少年体育工作先进集体，是安徽省名副其实的体育名校之一。

艺术特色教育

学校还大力实施艺术特色教育“1128”工程，艺术教育硕果累累，2000年被表彰 为安徽省艺术教育工作先进单位，2002－2006年，五届高中艺术班202名毕业100%通过全国艺术专业考试，154人被录取到中国美院、新加坡南洋艺术学院、天津美院等几十所本科院校，2003年荣获全国教育科学“十五”重点课题实验基地，1997－2006年，在全国中小学美术作品大赛中，共30余人次获全国一等奖，110余人次获市一等奖。此外，常年活跃着中学生管乐队、舞蹈队、民乐队、中学生剧团、合唱队、竖笛队等。

学校每年有大批优秀毕业生进入高等院校，涌现出如党的十六大主席团成员、全国十大杰出青年的解放军二炮某部沈方泉，全国十佳公诉人王为明等突出典型。

The Affiliated High School to Anhui University of Technology, which used to be the No. 8 Middle School of Ma’anshan, founded in April, 1968, is awarded successively the title of the 6th, 7th and 8th Unit of Civilization in Anhui Province as well as an outstanding well-organized school in the city of Ma’anshan. The school has two campuses with 259 members of the staff and 82 classes of about 4,500 students.

Our education philosophy is to implement student-adapting education efficiently and address the importance of the individual, to initiate modern outlook of teaching and learning and to create a both cooperative and competitive workteam. Students, to be capable and cultivated, will keep in mind the school motto, “Be proud of my school today, and my school will be proud of me tomorrow”. The teaching quality and social reputation of the school has been promoted prominently in recent years.

In 2004, we were the first to start the school course of robots in Anhui Province, developing students’ awareness and ability of creativity. In the national competitions, 6 students have achieved the first prize, 10 the second, and 7 the third. Among them, Jiangge won the first prize at the 7th China Robot Contest held in Shanghai and has been enrolled in the national team to join in the world robot contest in “Three-One” College of America, in April, 2007.

“There is no first scale school without the first scale sports.” That is why the first high standard fencing house of middle school students of our province was put up in our school in October, 2005.As a result, 10 gold, 7 silver and 7 copper medals were won in the National Fencing Championship of Middle School Students in July, 2007; 6 gold, 3 silver and 3 copper medals were won in the national Club Cup. Our school has been successively conferred on the title of the Model Unit of National Mass Sports for three times. Titled the National Juvenile Sports Club and the Model Unit of Juvenile Sports of Anhui Province, our school is a veritable famous sports school in Anhui Province.

Meanwhile, our school is carrying out its “1128” Project, aiming at the education of art characteristics, which leads to great ac

hievements in art education. We were awarded the Model School of Anhui Art Education in 2000. In the five years between 2002- 2006, 202 graduates of our art classes have all passed the national art academic test, of whom 154 students are admitted to scores of universities, such as China Academy of Art, Singapore Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, and Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts.
