With about130 hectares, this reclamation site sits at the North-East Waters of Hong KongInternational Airport. The design idea starts from singling out thetraffic network in the surroundings as permanent elements. Therefore, oncecontrasting the steadiness of these routes and new structures with the dynamicflow of people and transports, the proposal reveals an almost paradoxicalrelation: sublime clarity and subtle evanescence. This delicate balance became the premise andintervention goal of this project – the idea of continuity adapted to thecurrent system. Architecture becomes anexperience inextricably linked to the site that once belonged to the sea. |
