But why the author says “Good looks are great asset.” Does it mean people are like someone in the first sight who with good looks and it is his or her asset? And, also, the last sentence of [this] paragraph stops me. There is “were to” in this sentence. It seems that the author misses something between “were” and “to”. At last I consult [consulted] to dictionary, and then I got the answer: used to show that something will happen in the future. So the author both means [means both] women and men are [delete can] can resist the appearance. |
