释义 | The first sentence of eighth paragraph is very long, has very many new words, understand[and] it has some difficulties for me. “All to well” has brought to [drawn]my attention. In the dictionary, I can’t find out the meaning of these words. Maybe it is not a phrase, I think. Finally I find out the answer. The expression “all too” is used to emphasize that something happens to a greater extent or degree than is pleasant or desirable. The expression “a year of profits” refers to a year during which the company made a profit. In the forth sentence, “within its own ranks” means within the company. “Reluctant” means “unwilling and therefore perhaps slow to act; being difficult to deal with.” The “celebrate” in ninth paragraph means to praise someone or something. “Perspective” means viewpoint. In the second sentence the expression “printing presses” refer to machines used for printing. The expression “high-profile”, which comes from the compound noun “high profile”, means “exposed to publicity or attracting attention”. Fact proof[?], a good company certainly must correctly process the ethnic diversity, harassment’ hiring and firing, profit sharing, and other labor policies. Besides, celebrate the staff has the unique talents, whether they are high-profile reporters, secretaries, or operators of printing presses. |
