In the class, my task is to make an advertisement which complies with the meaning of the weasel claim. I’m so confused let alone to making a sentence. But today I meet with them again, finally, so I resort to all kinds of reference. “Weasel word” in the text is meant “a word used instead of another word because it is ambiguous and misleading”. So “the weasel claim” we are able to understand is that the claim contradicts the modifier.

When I read the second sentence, the word “egg-eating” stops me. It is all known that the behavior of weasel paying the cock a courtesy call on New Year's Day means it doesn’t own a good intention. Because we usually think the weasel wants to eat the cock. But “the egg-eating habits of weasels” confused me because I’ve never heard the weasels have this habit which beyond imagine. Along with reading the rest of this paragraph, I got the basic meaning. The weasel likes to suck out the inside of an egg, but will leave an intact appear. Obviously, the causal observer, at first glance, will see it as an intact egg.

In order to enrich my composition, I read this part again and again. I suddenly find that what the casual observer implies. In my view, it stands for those people, who always say they are immunity to advertisement but are apt to be induced unknowingly.

In the paragraph twelve, there is a phrase “sort of” attracting me because I still forget its real meaning. When I first read it, I thought it means “all kinds of”. But I’m not sure. So I got the meaning by the dictionary that “in some way or to some degree”. For instance, “I was sort of hoping to leave early today.” When I move on to the sentence “….did not prevent the FTC from demanding that this ad be withdrawn”, I stopped. What’s the FTC? It is easy to look up and the full name is Federal Trade Commission. From the explanation of ending text, it shows that although the word “helps” is fairly vague, the FTC considered that the claim word precise enough to be called a false claim and thus this ad had to be withdrawn.

A claim “the lady has taste” interests me because of recalling my teacher words. “We can describe some food is good if using “taste”. But if complimenting someone who is fashion or good at dressing, we can use “taste” commonly in western life.” Therefore, I fairly excited to meet with the sentence.
