| 释义 | Based on analyzing paragraph four and paragraph five, I get many new points. In the first line of paragraph four, I am attracted by the word “whole”. Of course, I know it means complete or total. However, here, I contact with the text, and guess that it refers to the company or the organization. What’s more, in this paragraph, the author uses the word “wants” for several times to implicate that today’s workers have a strong willing to be a valued part of the whole company. It seems that the sentence “Employees will contribute their knowledge enthusiastically in a corporate culture that values the individuals” is a good one. Here, the word “value” not represents important or worth of something for someone, it refers to respect. So, in my view, this sentence can express that workers will spare no effects to devote themselves to the organization, which respect for employees much. As we know, one of the most important things to running a company is profit. Well, what is the relationship between profitability of a company and its employees is what the author wants to discuss. He takes Compaq computer for instance to explain that a direct relationship between job performance and reward makes work more meaningful. It can be seen clearly from the example that in the process of pursuing profit, human resource is very import. So, we need the management emphasizes individual responsibility of results and high respect for individual. This is my understanding from paragraph four to paragraph five. |
