词条 preview paragraph 11 to 16
释义

In the paragraph eleven, author cited a true fact to support his view of four happy traits. In the beginning of this paragraph, he uses (used) “the causal arrow” to explain the correlation between four traits and happiness. At the first, I didn’t know the meaning of “the casual arrow”. It can’t(couldn’t) be translated literally. So I resorted to the reference book. I thought it is(was) a good phrase. The author used a figurative method to explain the correlations. Then the author also used three questions to draw readers’ curiosities. Finally he certified his opinion through experiments.

In the next paragraph, the writer comes(came) up with a new opinion that our genes limit(limited) the happiness. After that, he set a psychological example of identical and fraternal twins. I got a stop when I read the “set point”. I can’t(couldn’t) understand it. Maybe I should ask teacher for help.

The paragraphs thirteen to fifteen told about the close association between happiness and close relation. I backed up “the benefits of close relationships with friends and family usually outweigh the strains” absolutely. When we felt despaired, our friends and family will(would) back us all times. As saying goes up, “a friend indeed is a friend in need”. People always compare their family to a harbor. So when we find ourselves in an unknown predicament, we are not alone. Our friends and family will share them with us.

In the last paragraph, the author made a conclusion. He didn’t only told(tell) us three common senses about happiness (which) is(was) completely right, but also told us exterior things have(which had) less impact on our happiness. So we should have right view on our happiness and enjoy them.
