美国歌手Eric Benet早期曾与他的姐姐及表兄组成Benet组合，并于92年发行专辑，但此专辑销售不佳。之后的两年，Eric的父亲因病去世，女朋友Tami Marie又在一次车祸中不幸丧生，一连串的打击使得Eric的歌唱事业一度中断。94年，Eric发行个人首张专辑《True to Myself》，99年又发行了个人第二张专辑《A Day In The Life》，同年，Eric摘得Soul Train最佳R&B/Soul男歌手。

值得一提的是，黑珍珠Halle Berry是Eric Benet的前妻。
