年初在英国Bridgend发生了一起沸沸扬扬的teenage suicide惨案，严格来说这起事件起始于差不多去年年初，先是一名18岁的少年在家中上吊自杀，紧跟着07年一年中，陆陆续续又有5名孩子分别以相同的手法结束了自己的生命，今年年初开始又一名少女Natasha Randall在家中上吊，同时还有她的两名好友也企图自杀，但被及时发现，得到了救助，但其中一名仍要靠呼吸机维持生命。到2月4号为止这个威尔士小镇已经有13名年轻人选择用这种方式结束自己的生命，最大的26岁。据警方初步调查，估计这几个孩子集体自杀的原因和互联网上的交友社区流行不无关系，他们同时都在交友网站Bebo的注册，并彼此间都有联系，很有可能是为求在网上获得永生而做出这样的选择。因为一周前发生的事件，BBC将此剧延播于2008年3月31日。
