布莱恩·霍尔姆斯(Brain Holmes)是英国当代著名的比较教育专家。1975-1985年间，曾是伦敦大学教育学院的比较教育学教授，长期从事《世界教育年鉴》的编辑工作。他曾任美、加、日等多所大学的访问教授，是联合国教科文组织、经合组织、日内瓦国际教育研究所和教科文组织汉堡教育研究所等多个国际组织的顾问，并担任过世界比较教育学会联合会的主席。他的主要贡献是提出了一套独具特色的比较教育方法论；培养了一大批跨国界的比较教育专业人才，其中多人已成名。
