西蒙娜·哈勒普，罗马尼亚网坛少有出色的选手，不到18岁时就在国际网坛小有名气，2008年澳网青少年组女单四强、夺得2008年法网青少年组女单冠军，并在2008年青少年组女单世界排名榜上高居榜首。可以说，西蒙娜横空出世改变了罗马尼亚网坛“阳盛阴衰”的局面，多年来罗马尼亚网坛一直是男选手当道，帕维尔、哈内斯库都是ATP中喊得出名字的一流好手。
