British Sky Broadcasting is the operator of the UK's largest digital pay television platform and a leading broadcaster of sports, movies, entertainment and news.British Sky Broadcasting plc operates the leading pay television broadcast service in the UK and Ireland, as well as broadband and telephony services. At 31 December 2007, there were over 8.8m Direct-to-Home subscribers to our television service, 1.2m broadband subscribers and 915,000 residential telephony customers.

In addition to the third party channels available through the Sky platform, Sky also owns and operates over 25 channels with a portfolio spanning Entertainment and News as well as Movies and Sports channels. Sky owned channels include Sky One, Sky News, Sky Arts, Sky Movies and Sky Sports.

Sky also operates a High Definition TV service, currently consisting of 17 channels allowing viewers to experience the enhanced quality of high definition for a range of Sky owned and third party channels.
