wretches and kings是林肯公园第4部专辑a thousand suns中的歌曲，歌曲以麦克信田的RAP和查斯特怒吼为特点，很有“林肯”的味道。开头结尾引用美国上世纪著名政治活动家Mario Savio于1964年12月2日在伯克利分校名的为 '直面齿轮机'(put your bodies upon the gears)的一次演讲中的高潮部分，与歌曲浑然一体。

久违三年的新金属乐团林肯公园今日在官网上宣布，乐队就在9月14发行全新的录音室大碟《A Thousand Suns》。专辑的首波主打单曲《The Catalyst》将会在8月2日全面登陆电台以及iTunes下载商店。

超级制作人和乐队的成员Mike Shinoda再次联手制作了乐团这次的新专辑《A Thousand Suns》，两人上次联手打造林肯公园的专辑是在2007年发行的《Minutes to Midnight》。而林肯公园也将在他们官方的Myspace首页上举办一些活动来宣传全新的专辑，其中就包括了征集粉丝用林肯公园的音乐录制自己歌曲并且有可能出现在新专辑中。

“这次全新的专辑将向大家展示我们是一个出色的乐团，同时也给粉丝一个机会让他们参与到我们的歌曲当中，也展示给大家我们的音乐是如何影响这些年轻人的。”乐队成员Shinoda说：“我们的粉丝不断的用他们的创新精神影响着我们，我想他们一定会拿出一些非常出色的作品。”

《A Thousand Suns》是2007年林肯公园发行《Minutes to Midnight》之后阔别三年的全新作品，上一张专辑的销量已经突破了300万张。
