| 释义 | In the first paragraph, a phrase “potential date” is attractive to me. I know the meaning of the two words respectively. However, I don’t know the meaning while they are put together. Thanks to the analysis of the teacher’s, I get some inspirations. “Potential date” refers to the person that may accept the invitation of dating with you. In the forth line, I find an interesting word “skin deep”. I understand the whole sentence and the word after I skim through context. In my view, “skin deep” means that beauty is not important. It occurs to me there is another word which has the same meaning in Chinese. In Chinese, people will use “skin shallow” to express something is inferior. At first, I think women are better at resisting appearance. And the research which appears in paragraph 4 tells me the truth. As a matter of fact, women still can’t prevent from the influence of appearance. So I think women will rank good looks in the top as well. |
