| 释义 | In the fifth paragraph, I found that not only the adults, but the young children more prefer the person who is attractive too. I thought that it has close relationship with the first institution. Despite of the age and sex, the attractiveness is the factor that has something to do with our daily life. In the next paragraph, the author compares the differences between the beautiful or attractive people and unattractive people. In the mind of people, they seem to think that the attractive people are always popular and all good things, even better, will come with those people. Then the author cites the example of the typical beauty: Snow White and Cinderella. But in “Snow White and Cinderella are beautiful — and kind; the witch and the stepsisters are ugly — and wicked.”, why the author uses “and kind” and “and wicked” behind? I thought maybe the author want to emphasize “kind” and “wick”. That means “What is beautiful is good and kind and what is ugly is bad and wick.” It is amazing that people are taught that stereotype when they were young. I don’t know whether it is good or not for their personality shaping. It is clear is it has make effort on characters and the future. It’s just my opinion about these two paragraphs. |
