Why they do everything possible to cheat? Is cheating irresistible? From the words of a mother of a nursery schooler, in the paragraph 11, we can guess that she can not oppose his son’s behavior and can understand why he did that because she did the same when she was his age. When a group of parents talk about the cheating, in my opinion, no parent can agree with this kind of action. But in private, they may not think like that. They are arrogant if their children have good result in their study. They don not pay attention to the process of examination but result. As the mother’s words, cheating is too common and too tempting and too much a part of human nature. But if their child cheated known by others, they can get outraged. Because the child lack of a sense of right and wrong, this belongs to parents’ responsibility. The young people be allowed to make mistakes including cheating. Teachers are changing their conception about exams. We study for learn technology but nor get high score. The results of exams are not the only evaluation tool to distinguish the good or bad student. It was used to test the students how well they have memorized about concepts or formulas. However, it used to acquaint teachers that how well the students have learned to apply concepts or particular problems. Meanwhile, I think the crib sheets are useless in the open-book exams. The last sentence in the paragraph 12, which is “did he cheat when he was young? ‘Sure’. I have a doubt about who asked this question and who answered. What I want to say is the author asks this question and he answers himself. It illustrates even Mr. James R. Socas, chairman of the honor committee at the University of Virginia, who is the most outspoken opponents of cheating, cheated when he was young. So no one can define the critical of youngsters who cheat definitely. In the paragraph 16, the teachers and child psychologists say that “the only way to stop students from cheating in college is to keep them from developing the habit in high school”. But I think that stop cheating from in high school is late. The cheating is made a way of life by many students and it flowers in the college. Even if we stop it in high school, it stopped outside but students may cheat secretly because they can deviate if from their psychology. It is a difficulty work for their parents but they have responsibility to help them. |
