It is only a kind of conceited action. Sometimes this action will bring people a sense of disgust. If I can understand the first two situations as showing off because they are indeed. Then why the author thought looking for excuses for leaving [is] also a showing off. Going to work, seeing son’s school play, shopping or cooking, they are normal enough which can be ignored [can ignore]completely. Why writer list them as a part of “showing off”? Is it has another explanation which I didn’t know? Besides, several new words are holding me at times. Although someone told me that I could guess their meanings from the words aside, I still have no conception about them. Finally, dictionary addressed this[these] problem. What puzzled me most was “in wine meditatively sips”. In my mind, they are individual words without any connections. Is [it] the problem of word order or other reasons? |
