| 释义 | From the former part of this article, I knew that everyone has his or her needs(need) to show off. If one of us had been became a famous person (such)as a (the)president of a province, he or she must, general speaking, tell(tells) about those to others. Even I didn’t know the meaning of the phrase “work one’s triumph into”, but I knew this phrase is related to the theme of this work. The “triumph” means accomplishment. They want share the joy of accomplishment with others and fulfill themselves. In most parts of this paragraph, the author tells about what she will do when some poems of her were published. From there, we can find some common behaviors of showoffs. They catch every opportunity to detain other people long enough to enlighten them with the message of showoffs’ triumph. They intend to put every thing into remarkable(remark), such as lay a card on the table. Furthermore, a stranger on the street interests them. I didn’t know whether the author exaggerate some behaviors. But she wants to show us the typical ways. It is amazed that they seem to become the centre of world and any other people is(are) fail to win them. In the next paragraph, I found it is an assumption. The author doesn’t do that. “it took me awhile” struck my mind. The author is sensible at last. She said it is fortunately. Seldom have people self-control. And once we have some prided(pride) things, it will take long time for self-restrain to calm down. So she uses “take awhile” there. It is common that we hope there is a good result in return after we successfully do something. However I didn’t know why the author said “fortunately for everyone”? I didn’t know why she mentioned “everyone”? This paragraph also introduces the 19th paragraph. Maybe the 19th paragraph tells us how the author controls herself or why she can do that. ？ ？ |
