In paragraph 20, “he fries me an egg” means fries an egg for me”. In paragraph 21, there is a sentence which is said by author’s mother, it uses three interrogative sentences to emphases the boy is so gorgeous, and her mother is exulting for that. These three paragraphs use three tenses “present tense”, “past tense”, and “subjunctive”. The last sentence in the paragraph 22 which said by the mother of four in the author’s imagine “call me “senator”” represents her showing off. Her aim of saying this is telling others, she has been a senator. |
