释义 | Working life is an important arena in most people's lives, and the working line concept is important for the development of welfare in a society. For young people, the period before permanent establishment in working life has become longer during the last two decades. Knowledge about attitudes towards work can help us to understand young people's transition to the labour market. Adolescents are the future workforce, so it seems especially important to notice their attitudes towards work, including attitudes towards the welfare system. The aim of this study was to describe and analyse upper secondary school students' work attitudes, and to explore factors related to these attitudes.Working life is of fundamental importance for the development of welfare in a society An essential part of the welfare system is the working line concept which has different meanings in different countries. The fundamental meaning of the concept is that everybody should earn his or her own living through work if possible. When needed, support to manage work should be given before public financial support is offered. Those who are unable to work should be financially compensated by the social welfare system. In Sweden, a debate is in progress about a general decline in ethics in the use of the social welfare system. This is probably related to huge restructuring of the public welfare system and increased individualisation among members of society . |
