释义 | “Insecure” is a chief word in the 12[12th] paragraph. I don’t know the meaning of it, but I know “secure”, so I guess it is opposite to “secure”. I look it up in dictionary---it means not confident. The author sympathize [sympathizes] with the insecure showoffs, the author explains the reason the insecure showoffs show off is that they afraid none [no one] knows their point [points]. But I don’t think so. In my idea if you really have ability, I think other people will have meeting of minds. “Now that’s impressive” it[去掉] is to describe that some people who is[are] successful but he[they] don’t to show off about it. The 15 paragraph is difficult for me. For example“the mother of four” I guess it is[去掉] means that the woman who have four children. And “she never even mentioned it”, in here the “it” is[去掉] represent[represents] that the women don’t show off he [she] is a member of the state senate. I think she is good. But I don’t agree with[to] the author said that she have a good self-restraint, maybe the women don’t like to show off. |
