| 释义 | Turning to read paragraph 4to 5. I have some problem. In words in paragraph 4 is easy for me to understand, but the sentence “they want to know not only how the work they do affects others and the organization’s goals, but how they as individuals can make an impact” confused me. I do not know the grammar in the sentence. In normal we always say “not only…but also” but in this sentence the author do not write like this the author say “not only…but” this is the first problem confused me. I read this sentence three times and know this sentence clearer than the first time. Paragraph 5 is twice longer than paragraph 4. In this paragraph there are many new words but I can look up in the dictionary so it is easy to me to know the main idea in this paragraph. In this paragraph the author give us an example, the example is “Compaq Computers”. This is a successful company. In the company the workers can perform to the best of their potential. But in the fact they are many companies can not make their workers to perform the best potential. I think we can learn the Compaq’s way to improve the companies’ turnover. It is a good advice for many companies. |
