释义 | The article explains one sort of showoffs in paragraph 10 to 11. It interviews the narcissistic showoffs. The author cited an example by himself to tell us that how narcissistic showoffs look like. I am very confused when I read the sentence “they are often adorable and charming and amusing—but until around the age of six”. I’m not sure whether only young children wouldn’t be hated when they show off. And another words “brooding darkly”, admittedly, the two words have the same meaning, why they are used together. As we know, narcissistic showoffs always are self—centered. Their temper likes a child, whereas others do not think so. Some people place more emphasis on the fact that showing off is the best way to attract attention, but they lack ability to distinguish reality from fantasy. They want to be the star while everyone else is the audience. For my part, it is no easy job to render what is right or wrong for this. Showing off can range from very gross to very subtle, and the point of showing off is something nasty, and also something nice. People played with some perplexing problem for this. |
