弗雷德里克·马奇(Fredric March)1897年8月31日生于威斯康辛州，表演生涯开始于20年代的百老汇舞台上，初登舞台便显示出极强的表演天赋，能诠释各种类型的角色。1930年以《皇室家庭》首次获得奥斯卡提名，其后以1932年《化身博士》和1946年《黄金时代》两度登上金像奖影帝宝座。此外，他也两度获得舞台剧托尼奖。直至60年代淡出影坛，1975年4月14日病逝于洛杉矶。
