ROCK RIVER History:

Aptly named after one of the great natural playgrounds in northwestern Illinois, Rock River footwear derives its original heritage from many years of outdoor adventures and hard work. Tom Richardson grew up raising Angus cattle on a farm outside a small town in Illinois, all the while learning the value of hard work and quality. Yet the nearby Rock River provided him with a much-needed break from the farm, where he would fish, paddle and explore miles and miles of the river’s bank. After being in the footwear business for 20 years, Richardson determined it was time to look to his own backyard for success. He realized over the years that there was a need for quality adventure outdoor footwear offered at a good value, thus Rock River was started in 1992.

Today, the seeds of Rock River have grown to be respected worldwide as the best value brand of pure adventure footwear for men, women, and children. From a hike in the foothills to a weekend camping trip to a day at the beach, outdoor recreation has become a fun, affordable way for families to escape the chaos at home and spend quality time together.
