Alex是作为歌手出道的，在6岁时Alex在Little League All-Star比赛中演唱过美国国歌（National Anthem）

她最为人熟悉的作品是《As the Worl d Turns》，她在其中扮演Maddie，这个角色长达2年，一直截止到2007年10月26日她才离开As the World Turns剧组。

而凭借As the World Turns剧集的人气，这期间她还出现在MTV的《True Life:I’m Getting My Big Break》

因为Maddie角色的受人喜欢爱，在2009年9月23日她又返回As the World Turns剧组。而凭借这个角色，还她提名了艾美奖

她演过两部网剧，Rockville, CA和Talent

她曾试镜《吸血鬼日记》,试演的角色就是Nina Dobrev现在扮演的Elena Kathryn

《吸血鬼日记》中Matt的扮演者Zach Roerig是她的好朋友，他们曾在As the World Turns中扮演情侣

她长期为一个癌症基金捐款，因为她的叔叔在2010年底因为肺癌去世。

她因拍摄As the World Turns从宾州搬到纽约。后来拍摄Rockville, CA的时候搬到加州居了一阵子，目前又搬回纽约。
