Building 429是基督教摇滚乐的一个重要里程碑，名字来自于圣经的一节，以弗所书4:29以及一个年轻的团体“429 challenge”。乐队成员起源于斯奈德施洗约翰纪念教堂和北卡罗来纳以及德克萨斯州的多个地区。 在1999年年末，贝斯手Scotty Beshears和吉他手/歌手Jason Roy在最后一场Roy's band All Too Familiar的演出上相遇。当时，Beshears已和Elijah's Ride组建了另一个独立的乐队。他们和鼓手Christian Fuhrer合作组建一个新的乐队，他们的歌词把现代流行摇滚乐和基督教主题混合在了一起。于是他们便开始以Building 429的名字开始了他们的音乐之旅。

Awards

In 2005, Building 429 was nominated to three Dove Awards at the 36th GMA Dove Awards: New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year ("Glory Defined"), and Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for the same song. It ended up winning New Artist of the Year.
