朱茂旭,男,汉族,博士,教授。1996年7月在中国地质大学(武汉)研究生院获得地球化学硕士学位,1999年8月在中国科学院地球化学研究所获得地球化学博士学位。1999年9月—2001年10月在中国科学院南京土壤研究所从事环境地球化学博士后研究工作。2001年11月至今在中国海洋大学化学化工学院工作。2007年9月—2008年9月在美国Texas A&M大学海洋学系做访问研究1年。曾主持和参与过国家自然科学3项、主持省自然科学基金、国家博士后基金和国家重点实验室基金各一项项目。主持留学回国人员科研启动基金和国家海洋局重点实验室开放基金各1项。目前主要研究方向:(1)海洋沉积物元素的早期化学成岩循环作用,特别是早期成岩作用过程中C、Fe、S及硫同位素、P以及其它一些氧化还原敏感性元素的生物地球化学循环;(2)海洋沉积物铁硫化物的环境地球化学及重金属的生物有效性;(3)土壤环境地球化学。

目前是下列三个国际刊物的通讯审稿人:
