个人经历

生于纽约州。五岁开始在广播电台演出，并学习唱歌，后在圣卡洛歌剧团当了三年女高音歌手。十三岁去百老汇演出《守卫莱茵河》。十七岁到好莱坞拍片，在《欲海情魔》中扮演女儿一角，获取1945年奥斯卡最佳女配角金像奖提名。她从影十二年，演出了三十多部影片。1957年退出影坛后还偶尔登台表演轻松歌剧和音乐剧。
