史特利普有了新家，也有了很多新的同居者，领头的长者是一匹性情暴躁的英国设得兰杂种马塔克(达斯丁·霍夫曼配音)和一只貌似明智的老山羊芬妮(乌比·戈德堡配音)，除此之外还有一只神经兮兮的大鹅、一只根本不在乎自己是个什么东西的公鸡，和一条可以用鼻子闻出谁是冠军的狗。史特利普坚持认为自己的人生应该在跑道上驰骋，他厌恶自己是一只斑马，开始在沃尔什先生的培训下努力学习赛跑。可是梦想却不被它人所理解，其它动物的猜忌、排斥，肯塔基州跑马比赛的无情条例，还有那个顽固冷淡的克拉拉从中做梗，也许英雄必须面临一些挫折才能成为英雄，史特利普在查宁的热情帮助之下，不仅获得了比赛资格，还赢得了美丽小雌马桑迪的爱情。

结局是注定的，真正的胜者是那些用心去做的人，而成功应该归属那些身边一直支持你的人。

幕后花絮

《赛场大反攻》这部电影的灵感来源于五年前的一次跑马，执行制片史蒂夫·温格纳和好友编剧大卫·斯梅特因小马而打赌，他们看着跑道想起赛马可以拍一部电影，特别是当一只赛马并不是优良品种的时候。拍摄这部电影需要跨越两个选角障碍：制作者们既需要动物角色的配音，也需要银幕上真人角色的演员。更不要说还有真实的斑马了。

①动物：他们首先找到了斑马条纹的配音，曾出演电视剧集《Malcolm in the Middle》的年轻演员弗兰奇·姆内兹。他觉得影片传达了一个积极的主题，而自己的声音表现也堪称怪异、风趣和神奇。两次获得奥斯卡奖的达斯汀·霍夫曼也来了，此前他还从来没有参与过动画或配音工作。霍夫曼总是想尝试一些新东西，许多演员都想演哈姆雷特或麦克白，而他就想为设得兰矮种马配音，自己也说不出为什么。和他一起搭档的便是黑人女星乌比·歌德堡，尽管是一对不搭调的马和山羊，能和霍夫曼同台共戏也算圆了歌德堡的梦想。

②马蝇：片中最讨喜的要属布斯和苏斯双胞胎兄弟了，这对饶舌的马蝇由史蒂夫·哈维和大卫·斯派德配音。角色的声音要求非常简单明了，就是带着浓重的鼻音和讽刺的口吻，尽可能地贱到底。布斯和苏斯的不同之处在于，苏斯是一只有理想的马蝇，他想将马蝇的思想带入一个新的高度；而布斯更热衷于做一只坦率的马蝇，他总喜欢俯冲向最新鲜的马粪。

③真马：在影片拍摄的最初，一般人们认为用真实的斑马不太可能。斑马毕竟是野生动物，如果需要它们的特别表现，恐怕只能运用电脑特效了。顶级驯兽师们认为“也许”能够办到，因此制作者们决定放手一搏。在斑马驯兽师史蒂夫·马丁的帮助下，所有人开始了这个全新的挑战。两只分别名为哥伦比亚和佐的斑马被用来扮演幼仔条纹角色，其中一只必须完成被大鸟追赶误闯鸡笼的戏，以及追赶卡车训练的搞笑场面。马丁又挑选了八只斑马扮演年轻的条纹，三个月的培训让这些斑马足够安全来用于拍摄：吉那能够躺下和犁地；德西和塞米用来骑驾
