由“选秀节目之父”SimonCowell创办的美国版《TheXFactor》即《X音素》，比赛内容有别于Simon早期参与的《美国偶像》，地域上超越了其原版《英国偶像》，本节目由9月底持续到12月，最后的冠军将获500万美金大奖，其激烈程度必将开创唱歌选秀类节目的新一轮高潮。

Simon Cowell离开《美国偶像》后，全力打造他的“New Baby”美国版《TheXFactor》，这部万众期待的真人秀将于2011年秋季于FOX电视台开播。节目档期虽然不会与FOX自家的收视冠军真人秀《美国偶像》冲突，但是仍被视为《美国偶像》最强劲的收视率竞争对手。
