Wizards of Waverly Place follows the Russo children, Alex, Justin, and Max, who on the surface appear to be completely normal, but beneath the sibling rivalry lies their secret. They are all wizards in training! They use their powers to do most of their tasks. Whether it's washing the dishes or making dinner, or even getting back at a fellow sibling, whatever the reason, it'll always have hilarious consequences. Even though they all train and study, once they turn 18, only one of them will get to keep their wizardly powers.

Alex quits the wizard competition because she and Justin were sent back to level one after "exposing" wizardry in "Alex Tells the World," leaving Max the most expected to become the family wizard. 简介

Russo一家要去度假，由于Alex在出发前用魔法偷偷溜出去参加聚会而闯了祸，Jerry在出发之前没收了他们的魔杖。但是Justin把家庭魔杖（family wand）偷着戴出来了，而Alex同时也把家里的魔法禁书（book of forbidden spells）偷出来了。在旅行中Alex想和岛上遇到的帅哥出去参加聚会，她妈妈Theresa阻止了她。她试图用同意咒让家人同意缺由于魔力不够而求助哥哥Justin。然而再施法的过程中被妈妈发现而被关两个月禁闭，不准使用魔法。Alex拿着魔杖的时候喊着希望爸妈从未遇到过。魔咒生效以后她父母不记得他们了。因此他们必须在48小时内解除咒语，否则魔法逻辑会让他们三人永久性的消失。

为了解除咒语Alex和Justin找到了失去魔力的前魔法师Archie一起去寻找能够实现任何愿望和解除任何咒语的梦幻石(stone of dreams)。同时他们的弟弟则负责让他们的父母爱上对方。一天以后他们仍未回来，因此Max向Jerry求助，帮他寻找去找魔法师的哥哥和姐姐。出发之前Theresa也加入了。

在经历一番冒险以后他们最终找到了梦幻石，但是被Archie跟随的鹦鹉Giselle（被变成鸟的魔法师）抢走了。Max和他们父母随后赶到，但是他们不肯相信自己有三个孩子。后来时间到了Max消失了。为了阻止Justin和Alex消失他们必须提前进行魔法竞赛（family wizards competition）成为完全的魔法师（full wizard）才能解除那个咒语。于是Jerry把他们带到了战场进行竞赛。Theresa回到旅馆时碰巧发现stone of dreams在变回人形的Giselle脖子里。

Giselle得到梦幻石以后变回了人形，但是她抛弃了Archie并拒绝将梦幻石交给Theresa帮助Alex他们解除咒语。Archie偷回梦幻石把她变回了鹦鹉并把梦幻石给了Theresa，Theresa用梦幻石来到了Alex他们竞赛的地方。Alex虽然获得胜利成为了完全的魔法师，但是Justin这时也消失了。Alex试图解除咒语但没有成功，Theresa刚好赶到将梦幻石给她，Jerry也告诉她做得好的话可以再保留完全魔力的前提下让兄弟们回来。但是Alex为了父母能记得他们而放弃了完全魔法师的能力，许愿一切回到原状。于是Alex回到了Theresa刚阻止Alex用家庭魔杖施同意咒的时候。

Alex很高兴一切回到了原状，他父母对这件事没有印象。Justin和Max保留了这段记忆。其他人是否有这段记忆未知。

收视率

虽然在反映的前两天就有泄露版出来了，在首映时这部电影仍然达到了1亿1千4百多万的收视率，超过了《公主保护计划》，摇滚音乐营，高校热舞剧等成为了迪士尼频道有史以来收视率第二的电视电影。在重映时仍然达到了5千万的收视率，排名第五。
