生平经历

雷·米兰德，本名Reginald Alfred John Truscott-Jones. 在成为演员之前，曾是一名英国的近卫军。退役后不久便加入了剧团，成为一名舞台剧演员。一次在伦敦的表演中，米兰德被好莱坞星探所发掘，此后便去了美国发展，进入了派拉蒙电影公司。

第二次世界大战期间，米兰德曾经请求加入美国陆军航空部，但是因为左手有伤而被驳回了请求。随后，他以民用飞行教官的身份服务于陆军部队。

1932年9月30日，米兰德和Muriel Weber 举行了婚礼，自此相伴到老。夫妇二人生了一个儿子（Daniel ）并收养了一个女儿（Victoria ）。1986年3月10日，米兰德因癌症在美国加利福尼亚州西南部托伦斯市的家中与世长辞，终年81岁。

银幕历程

米兰德的银幕事业真正开始于1929年，活跃时期是上世纪的三、四十年代，主要是在一些浪漫爱情剧中担任主角。

1945年，米兰德出演了由著名导演比利·怀德执导的影片《失去的周末》中的男主角Don Birnam—— 一名无论在精神还是肉体上都饱受酒精折磨的嗜酒徒，出色的演技最终使他一举摘下了当年奥斯卡影帝的桂冠。可惜的是，这也成为了他事业的最高点。米兰德曾经试过改行做导演，不过这并没有给他正在走下坡路的演艺事业带来转机。

1974年，米兰德出版了其亲自撰写的个人传记《 Wide Eyed in Babylon 》。
