| 释义 | 作业11 When I read paragraph 19 to paragraph 22, I couldn’t understand the mean of exult. Then I looked it up in the dictionary , so I know the meaning. It is a verb,the meaning is to express great pleasure or happiness, especially at someone else's defeat or failure,but I think the author use the first meaning. In the paragraph 19, the author use “golden ,glowing and glorious”. In my opinion, the three words make the manner of speech much louder,it is very important and make the emotion more clear. From paragraph 20 to paragraph 22, the author takes three examples to show us what the people are showing off. First, the author uses her husband fries her an egg and practically does a tap dance to write that her husband is showing off.I can understand her husband’s happiness, he is much happier than the author.Second,the author uses her mother’s speak to write that her mother is showing off, her mother take her first grandson and reappear the word “gorgeous”, I know the author’s mother is very happy ,she want to make everyone know she have a lovely grandson.Third, the author uses the mother of four’s speak to write that the mother is showing off.The mother stress the name of her , I know she want to make everyone know she is a senator , she will be proud of it. I think the author uses the three examples is to prove that may be a permissible form of showing off, I agree with her. In my opinion, in everyone’s life will have some overwhelming need to exult. |
