释义 | When it comes to the paragraph ten, I was interested in one sentence which is “they talk nonstop, they brag, they dance, they……” If I want to write the similar sentence, most possibly, I would put it in this way “they talk nonstop, brag and dance, or they sometimes……” It is worth learning the author’s language. Indeed, I think narcissistic showoffs are genuine giant, to some degree. Because the author mentioned that they sometimes quote Homer in Greek. Meanwhile, I feel their acts as childish that they go stand on their head in order to appeal others’ attention. If they do the similar actions all the time, they are annoyed. “And yes” in the last sentence interests me. What dose the meaning of “yes” in this paragraph? In my opinion, the author agreed to the former view that narcissistic showoffs want to be star while everyone else is the audience, while the “yes” is a turning point. Because she said the narcissistic showoffs limited to age. In the paragraph 11, the narcissistic showoff that the author mentioned is arrogant. When the conversation concentrated on his achievements, he felt satisfaction; whereas shifted from his accomplishments, he chooses to leave them. He thought the talk started getting so superficial. |
