In the first sentence of the ninth paragraph, I misunderstand the meaning of a word ‘celebrate’ so that I read this paragraph with confusion. The reference tells that the meaning is ‘to praise someone or something’ not ‘enjoy an occasion’ as I thought. Meanwhile I feel confused why the author uses a word ‘active’. Maybe there is a phrase about ‘make’. After I consulted a dictionary, I know it means ‘make use of something physically or mentally.’ I want to introduce a complex word---‘high-profile’. When I find its explanation, I feel surprised about its meaning---attractive. I find a familiar phrase ‘call for’. I have met many phrases, which relate to ‘call’. So I can’t make sure the explanation of this phrase. I list phrases about ‘call’ in a book so that I will learn by heart about them at free time. In this part, I learn many phrases, words, grammar and the idea. The most important is the idea that how to keep the outstanding employees. |
